How long do I use the boot after bunion surgery

Hi, I'm now getting into the 4th week after lapidus bunionectomy Surgery. Last week they took off the cast, and took out two stitches. Ouch! So now I have this boot, and just needed to know am I supposed to wear this everyday or just when I go out? Any feed back would be great.
