i have a dull pain up high (not under the arm) but from back bone all round to front on the left side of my body. Hammer toe Surgery and it looks like one of the pins is working its way out of toe

I had hammer toe surgery with stitches and pins 4 weeks ago. The removal of Pins and stitches is on Thursday but it looks like one of the pins is working it's way out of toe. Does this happen because I can't imagine going through this procedure again and am concerned?????
