My mother had a cortisone shot 4 weeks ago and is still in severe pain.  She is also extremely week still her doctor keeps telling us to give it time I am just not sure how much time to give it.

Long term effects of having an autoimmune disease

I would like to know if anyone who had an autoimmune disease years ago, or knows someone who did, developed cancer later?  I mean if our immune systems are already low and we take predisone, which makes it worse, does that lower our immune systems even more?
