My son was diagnosed with asthma and was prescribed with beclomethasone dipropionate. On the other hand, my friend's daughter was prescribed with fluticcasone propionate. We discussed about effects of those medications on growth rate of our children. We are very concerned about this matter. Can you tell us more about this?

I had the same doubts myself. Recently I found some research that has been done. In that research were included 343 children who were 4 to 11 years of age. According to them the growth rate in children with chronic asthma was greater than in those who took fluticasone propionate than in those who were on beclomethasone dipropionate.
