Corticosteroids are used primarily as anti-inflammatories but could be also used for treating some malignancies or natural hormone deficiency. I had a cortisone shot in my spine for severe back and knee pained caused by a bulging disk. since then I have gained 12 pounds even though I've had a lap band operation. I also have osteo arthritis. I am 69 years old and qite active when I don't hurt.

Is flovent good for babies?

My new born baby has some difficulty breathing. Doctors could not diagnose this as asthma or some virus infection so, they just prescribe Flovent. I read on package of Flovent that it not supposes to be given to children younger than 12 years. What should I do? Should I ask for second opinion?
