5 weeks late with extreme cramps

I'm 5 weeks late but took an at home pregnancy test that came out negative two weeks ago when I was 3 weeks late. A few days ago I started have severe lower abdominal cramps, much like with menstruation, only worse. Is it possible that I'm pregnant or have a different medical condition?
