there is vibration in my ear.I don`t know why it happens!

In my left ear,I have been experiencing on and off vibration;like a tarapped wind or similar. It just quivers spasmodically! It has been keeping me awake at night.I shove in an ear-plug and it stops. I take it out,it starts again! Any help??

lump behind right ear and right sight of throat
