Fat Stomach after gallblader stomach, (under my rib cage).

I had gallblader surgery, and since then, I have a huge roll of fat right in my rib cage area. I have done sit ups, dieted and nothing will has helped. I have always had a very flat stomach. Please help! What inside me, filled that empty space.
