I'm sorry to hear about this. I have two sons away in college, so I know that being so far away is difficult for you. I want to help with a part of your question. If at all possible, find a doctor who communicates. Doctors who don't want to talk, or listen can adversely affect your son's treatment. That's what I'd do first. I have doctor friends and I've dealt with my son's health. A doctor will tell you not to deal with a doctor who is non-communicative. I also know several people who have had their gallbladders removed, not repaired. Gallbladder surgery today is one of the simpler procedures, (if I can say that). Why put a bandaid treatment. I hope you will get answers to the rest of your question soon. Good luck!

It is upsetting to hear that you have an unresponsive doctor! I have always found it helpful to get a second or third opinion. Call it doctor shopping if you will. You do not need to settle for a doctor who will not communicate with you or communicates with you in a poor manner. The UK is full of great specialists who can meet your needs and answer your questions. You should do some research on the internet and pull up several geneticists in the UK and seek some advice. Many can answer questions right over email. Best of luck to you and your son!

How is your son doing now? Did he find a doctor. If so, did he have to hop islands, so to speak. If so, where did he find treatment. I know that we have other members that are out of the country and would like to know how you are or will deal with this situation. It is really serious. I hope that your son found good treatment somewhere. Please let us know what's happening with him. We are rooting for him.
