problem with hair thinning

Hi, I am 47 years old female and I have noticed that my hair is becoming thinner. Till now my hair was very thick and strong so such change upsets me pretty much. I have tried few shampoos but there weren't results. I would be very thankful if someone is willing to share his experience about this.
