change in blood color duirng menstruation, its brown instead of red

hi i am 28yrs female and over the past year, i have realised that the color of my blood, (supposed to be red) has changed to brown. this leaves a dark presipitate in the sanitary towel (pad). what could be the reason for this and what is the cause? Worried.

Is there a relationship between seafood and a women's cycle? I've heard several stories that you are not supposed to eat seafood while on your cycle because it "Makes it Worse and Smell". Any comments or concern would be appreciated!
