Had all my teethe pulled yesterday, waiting for new ones

I had all my teeth pulled yesterday morning and now I am waiting for new ones. I can’t eat …and it is very uncomfortable like this. My dentist said that gums have to heal before he put new dentures. I would like to hear someone experience with this. I guess I have to choice but to wait.

blue-purple spot on palatopharyngeal fold
