lump on mouth palate

Are there people here with similar experiences? I have this pea sized lump on my mouth palate and I really feel bad about it. It feels kind of warm and I am sure it is infected in some way. What do I need to do with this? I have been thinking about puncturing the lump. Is that a good idea?
