Nothing to worry about,
just follow some simple on going tasks to help treat your infected tongue.
Your problem may be caused by the pierced tongue to actually start healing and closing slightly with the bar in,
this does happen over time for some people.
but the tasks are simple,
*no dairy products for about a week because dairy products tend to carry unneeded bacteria.
*brush teeth daily.
*wash mouth out with 'tea tree oil mouth wash'- this is found in normal grocery stores, and is ideal for in mouth infection,
use for about a week or two.
on the other hand there are other alternatives.
ie. kettle boiled water with salt mixed in it about a table spoon,
sip and swirl and spit do this 3 times a day for a week or two.
if the infection is bad remove bar or seek help from your gp.

thanks, i've took the bar out, to be honset there's no way the bar could go back in, it's closed up straight away, just find it strange that after so may years with no problems this happens, i've read the lump could be scar tissue , but it looks awful and it;s sticking right out of the hole under my tongue and it's so painful, thanks for the advice, i'll def try the mouth wash but i maybe think i'll need anti-biotics from docs, thanks.
