Tongue surface piercing (scoop) infected??

I got my scoop pierced about six months ago and have had no issues. The past week, though, one side is swollen and tender while the other is completely fine. I am wondering if it is because I play with it too much or is it infected? There is no pus or discoloring, the swelling isn't even that bad....
