I have had HPV for nearly 25 years and I still cannot get rid of tiny lesions

I have had HPV for approx 25 years. its tiny leasions that just wont go away. You cant even see them with the naked eye. I've read that the virus usually heals itself in 1 to 3 years. Why cant I get rid of this.

My girlfriend had HPV three times in two years. She was treated each time and believed that she was ok. How is it possible? I am begging to think that she has HPV permanently. Is HPV permanent? She is also worried that she may have cervical cancer.
