Can you please tell me how common is Trichomoniasis and how it is treated. One of my friends just has been diagnosed with Trichomoniasis. How can I prevent this? Are condoms enough protection?

I was told that I had herpes before and I have never had an outbreak. I camplained of itching, I was prescribed medicaton for it, but I never got it filled. I have never had the problem again. Could it be a wrong diagnose?
