Zithromax - Do you have to take both pills at the same time?

I was just prescribed 2 500mg of Zithromax for Chlamydia today. I have a very hard time taking pills so I was wondering if I had to take both pills at the same exact time or if I could wait an hour or two to take the other. Or would I be able to crush them and mix it in with water or pop?
