Skin peeling off fingers

Every now and then the skin peels from off my finger tips its recently gotten worse. I think it is because a year or two ago I had permed/relaxed my hair without using gloves and it turned my nails yellow and burned a tiny whole or two in my finger tips. I am not sure what to do
