lump on back of head near neck

I am looking for some information on lumps. My partner has a lump on the back of his head, right near the neck. It is about the size of a large pea, and while the area is not red or inflamed, I can clearly feel the lump and I can feel it move about. Should he see a doctor? Is this dangerous?
