left testicle is softer than the other after the hernia surgery

Few months ago I went for a hernia operation & I found out that my left testicle is softer than the other after the surgery when I was starting to recover. Is it normal?

When I woke up this morning my right testicle was sore and had a dull pain when I touch it. It is not bigger than the other testicle there is no swelling. I do feel a little tiny ball/lump that close to the Epididymis and when I try to touch it it hurts.
