How can i plan if I myself don't really know when I am ovulating?

My husband and I are trying to plan for our second child. The problem is my periods can go from 28 days to 38 days or sometimes 20 days. how can i plan if I myself don't really know when I am ovulating? Is there anyway to tell if I am since my menstruals cycles are everywhere?
