I've had moderate pain in my right side, the onset was sudden and the pain is localized

I've had Moderate pain in my right side for about 16 hours now. The onset was sudden. The pain is localized and only hurts when I move or apply pressure to the area. It hasn't gotten worse. I originally thought it may be gas but now I don't think so. What could it be? Should I wait to go to ER?
