I've been using my BC for three years now, and currently i am taking an antibiotic. Let’s say prior to the antibiotic i had unprotected sex, while taking my BC pill. Now that i am on an antibiotic, will that interfere with my previous actions, or is it from this moment on?

What side effects can ciprofoxacin cause? I was on cephalexine the first, but didn’t help. I have to switch on ciprofoxacin now. I have heard that it is very potent antibiotic and that can harm intestinal and vaginal natural flora. Can I prevent it somehow?

I was prescribed antibiotics whilst i was already on my pill free week, i take the microgynon contraceptive and not sure if i only need to use extra protection for the 7days antibiotics and another 7 days or if i need to take precautions for longer. Any ideas??
