some foods aggravate gout

Did you know that some foods actually aggravate gout? Apparently alcohol and meat are things that one should avoid if one wants to make their gout better! There are others as well but I haven't read that much about it. Anyway if this really does work then I would like hear you thought about this.

Pain in ball of big toe with movable mass under ball of toe,

There is a weird sensation in my big toe on the left foot. Underneath the ball of the toe there is what feels like a movable mass that hurts when you move it. It also causes the tip of my toe to become slightly numb. What might be causing this?
