can you get pleuricy from an injury

I was hurt lifting 40 pounds of concrete from a hole in Dec. I had hernia surgery and my ribs were hurt. They have been hurt two more times since, had a MRI and they said nothing broken. Why is my ribs hurting so badly. My chiropractor said I have pleuricy. Is that possible and why

Is smoking associated with increased risk of Hamman-Rich syndrome?

Do any of the participants on this forum know about the causes of Hamman-Rich syndrome? Most lung conditions are worsened or even induced by smoking and being in a smoky environment, and I was hoping that someone could tell me if the risk for Hamman-Rich syndrome is increased by smoking?
