Corticosteroids (Hormonal preparations)

Corticosteroids are drugs related to cortisol, a hormone produced in the adrenal cortex. Corticosteroids are used primarily as anti-inflammatories but could be also used for treating some malignancies or natural hormone deficiency. Corticosteroid Drugs Include: Betamethasone (Celestone), Budesonide (Entocort EC), Cortisone (Cortone), Dexamethasone (Decadron), Hydrocortisone (Cortef), Prednisolone (Prelone), Prednisone (Deltasone) and Triamcinolone (Kenacort, Kenalog).

I was takeing pred. for 18 days, have been on and off for a few years now. I have serious lung problems. Ihave gained 26 pounds, and feel very uncomfortable. other than excise what can I do. I can't take diet pills with my meds.

Does a cortisone shot cause elevated pulse rate ?

My normal pulse rate is 50 to 60. I take 25mg of atenelol twice a day. I had a cortisone shot today and my blood sugars are high (I am an insulin dependant diabetic) plus my resting pulse rate is up to 80. Should I increase my beta blocker to bring my pulse rate down to normal for me?
