I work for one of the largest Shellfish companies in the US. I Harvest Geoducks. In November of 07 i was working a night tide; I fell in a hole about 3 feet deep when i landed i heard a loud popping sound. And instantly felt pain in my left hip area. I went to my Dr. a couple of times he had me take x-rays and have a CT scan of my hip. Which didn't show any thing so he sent me to an orthopedic Dr. He then had more x-rays taken and ordered an MRI of my hip and pelvis . And again the x-rays and now the MRI showed nothing. After a 3 months of being on L&I my Orthopedic Dr said its time for you to go back to work. I told him that i was still feeling numbness and tingling along with pain in my left hip. He replied well i dont see any thing wrong with you, my job is done and its time for me to close ur L&I clam. And for you to go back to work.
This is now February 08 i continued to work for a few months And in June i went to a different Dr who i had seen before when i tore my groin. He suggested that i go and have a second onion. And referred me to a different orthopedic Dr. Now this Dr is a specialist of hips and knees.When i seen him, he felt that it wasent my hip at all that it was my back. And sent me to 4-6 weeks of physical therapy. The first day of PT they found the problem. Man i sigh of joy. Some one knows what is wrong with me. She said that my SI joint was serverly strained and possiblely i have ruptured disks in L3 and L5.
After a month of PT i went back to the Dr and he set me up for a MRI of my back and referd me to a Spinal dr. The MRI showed that i have 3 deteriorating disks L1 4 and 5. And had stiffness in L3. And also felt that i had straned my SI joint as well.
He ordered me to have a Cortisone Injection in my SI joint and hoped that that would help. I go back 2 weeks later and tell him that it my of helped i little bit and it only lasted for a few days. He then ordered my L1, 3,4 and 5 to have cortisone injections as well I had my first on last Tuesday the 30th of September and i was not felling any pain Intel today. I have herd that this drug only works for 66% of people.
Now what i am wondering if any one has had problems like i have had with pinched nerves. Or now of any ideas that i my try to get pass this irritating injury
