Anti estrogen in the advanced breast cancer

Hi, guys. My mother has been diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. I think that doctor wants to recommend her anti estrogen treatment. I am not sure about all this since I don’t have enough data. I would appreciate if someone could fill me in with some info, so I can have a clearer picture.

my husband has prostate cancer he has had radiation therapy, before he had it the Doc said the cancer had escaped into the surrounding tissues and the radiation would give him a few more years he is 70 years old , so if he has had the radiation what is meant by a few years
