how to get stronger but keep fitness up?

Does anyone have any advice on how to get stronger but keep fitness up. For doing weights, working on sites all ive been told is to eat more and get loads of protein, but this doesnt exactly help when im going out for a run. Any tips or advice greatly appreciated

Can i run in the rain after an viral infection?

is running or doing any exercise for that matter a bad idea when it's wet and raining in terms of getting sick? i'm just getting over a pretty bad viral infection and scheduled a run for this evening but it's pouring rain and i'm worried about flaring up my sickness

Do i need to change my shoes now that im wearing orthotics?

So next week I should be getting my orthotics. Do I need to buy neutral shoes now that the orthotics will be handling my mechanical deficiencies? Or should I still stick with motion control shoes? Can I get something a little cushier now?

How do I return to my old run time?

I use to be in the military and got out 3 years ago. Back then I was running 3 miles in about 19 min. Ever since I got out I never really kept up with that time and now run 3 miles in about 25 min. What would be the best way to get back down to my 19 min time? Thanks.... :D

So I haven't run since around Christmas, then I pushed myself through 6 yesterday. I was expecting to be sore, just not as much as I am. And one of the sorest parts of me is my shoulders (mostly delts). I thought that was a little weird. Anyone have any great soreness stories?
