life expectancy for hypoplastic left heart

A friend's baby was born with a serious birth defect - hypoplastic left heart. I understand that this means that there are problems with the left side of the heart, that it has not grown properly, or something like that. Does this condition impact the life expectancy of my friend's little daughter?

Can hear my hearbeart for 2 consecutive days now.
