Single column hemorrhoidectomy vs all three

The doc said I'd only need one of the three hemorrhoid columns excised. He said the pain is less with just one - a 4 or 5 out of ten instead of a 7 or 8. Has anyone had experience with this? Is it not so bad getting just a single column removed as compared to a complete removal of all three?

Surgery this Friday to remove a thrombosed external hemorrhoid. Is it dangerous?

Hello my surgeon is set to remove one external hemmoroid this Friday . He acts as if it's not going to be a big deal and it will be an outpatient thing.
