Chloramphenicol eye drops

I think I have conjunctivitis. I know all the symptoms because my younger sister had it last month. Probably my doctor will prescribe me chloramphenicol eye drops. Can somebody tell me his or her experience with this medication and can you give me good advice? May I expect some problems? Thanks!

Impact of chloramphenicol on liver

My sister has bacterial eye infection and her doctor prescribed to her chloramphenicol eye drops. I also used that eye drops last year when I had the same problem. Recently I heard that chloramphenicol may damage the liver. Does anybody know what is the impact of chloramphenicol on liver? Thanks!
