I was on cellcept (mycophenolate) 500mg three times a day capsules because of renal transplantation that I went through. Two weeks ago I was switched on azathioprine. I was complaining on gastric discomfort. It is also immunosuppressant. Anyone else switched from to azathioprine? It seems to me that causes less gastric side effects. What do you think? Please post if have expirience with azathioprine.

I have started with azathioprine after the transplantation I had three months ago. I have heard that one of expected adverse effects of cellcept is gastrointestinal disorders. It is recommended not to be used in persons that have ulcers. I take azathioprine twice daily, every day at the same time. It is important to know that az. prevents rejection of
transplanted organ only as long as it is taken.
