I just started my birth control on the sunday after my period started, like my gyno told me to, and this time, my period has been a lot lighter than normal, but it is also a  lot longer than it usually is, is this normal?

I have had my period now for about 2 yeas and have noticed that on the last 1 or 2 days before my period ends, instead of red blood, the dischard is like an odd brown color. It is not a lot but I am still wondering if this is normal.
