Problems with period

My girlfriend hasn't had her period. We had protected sex a week before her period was suppose to show up but now it's been 4 late and noting has happen except cramps that go off and on and sleepiness and wanting chocolate and feelin if throwing up but doesn't what can this be plz help

Just switched to NuvaRing after being on the patch...Inserted correctly and removed correctly...is it normal to miss your period after switching? I did have a little pink on the toilet paper every once in a while, but no flow at all! Thanks
