Treatment for acrodermatitis enteropathica in bottle-fed infants?

I read a reference to the fact that bottle fed infants with acrodermatitis enteropathica cannot take the usual zinc replacement therapy for some reason or another. Can anyone tell me what this is all about, and what treatment is offered instead if this is really true? Thank you for any response.
