How do you take of temperature to your baby, drugs or otherwise?

Hello, folks. My friends have a little baby who got high temperature. Since they are totally new in parenthood, they don’t have much experience. I would like to know how you take of temperature to your baby. Do you use drugs or do you do it otherwise? I would appreciate all your advices.
