Common treatment for diabetic women who are pregnant?

My sister is pregnant and I am very happy for her. However, she is diabetic and I know she has to take her medications regularly. I was hoping to find out something more about common treatment for diabetic women who are pregnant. Are there any guidelines? If there are, I will gladly hear them out.

unexplained weightloss during pregnancy
