Sugita or Mayfield Head Holder in surgery

My spine surgeon did not inform me of the procedure for a cervical posterior foraminotomy.  Woke up in post op holding my head from the pain. Short term - post op c6-7 fusion, how much pain is normal

I had fusion of c6-7 on 8/11/08 so its been just 2 weeks since surgery. I'm hearing others say pain was gone immediately...mine certainly isn't. I was expecting to feel better than this by now. Taking about 6 hydrocodone per day and need every one of them. Just want to know its noraml, not sure...

7yr after plates in lower back, Pain is back
