Strange lump on scrotum/inner thigh

Hi i'm 15 and I have a strange lump on my scrotum, right where it meets my thigh. It is not a pimple, as it is way to large, and I had it scanned and it is not a hernia. It sometimes hurts, but usually just sits there. It is about 2 inches long and 1/2 inch wide. Any idea what it is?
