Hypothyroidism and Weight issues..

i have hypothyroidism for more than an year now. Instead of the regular symptom of weight gain, I have been experiencing alarming fall in my weight. Why is this so?Also, I have heard that having fried and oily food and consuming aerated drinks can worsen my situation. How true is that??
