After having Papillary Thyroid cancer, 1st surgery went well, after 2nd surgery on Right side I have hoarsness and difficulty breathing. My doctor has not checked for Bilateral Nerve damage/ Bilateral vocal cord paralysis. When she did a scope test, the Right Laryx doen't function properly. I've had 10 episodes where I've taken in a breath of air and everything locks up I cant speak, I can't get air in or out. The only thing that I try to do in these situations is gulp really hard, try to relax, drink water. My doctor gave me an inhaler and said, " I don't know if this is going to work but you can try it," and sent me on my way. What else can I do? Should I get a treceotomy?
