Poorly managed Graves' disease escalating?

My brother suffers from Graves' disease and has recently started complaining about his medication and saying that the treatment seems to have stopped working. It seems obvious to me that the treating doctors are doing a poor job of managing his Graves' disease. What can be the result of this?

Loss of voice due to problems with thyroid?

I'm having problem with my voice lately. It's hoarse, and I really have trouble to talk. I have hay fever, but I've also heard that loss of voice could be caused by problems with thyroid.Is that true? Is it just allergy or I should check my thyroid?
