lump on your thyroid

My ex showed up on my door step yesterday with the announcement that he has a lump on his thyroid. I have heard that this is serious before, but he told me the doctors are not yet sure about the diagnosis. Do any of you know what this could be? It can't be sexually transmitted, right?

Hi there, I had surgery to remove the right side of my thyroid on July 21 (not quite one week ago). I was diagnosed hypothyroidism in May so have had very little time to get used to anything! I am now taking synthroid (.100 mg daily) for two weeks then .150. I also take 5 mcg of Cytomel daily....
