From what you wrote, I think you have assumed that every child who was at first unwanted during the pregnancy was treated with less love and caring than those who were wanted from the first. I think that is too broad.
I had a pregnancy that was at first unwelcome because I was going through a divorce and it was very bad timing. I then reached a point where this baby was very much wanted and welcomed and was treated with every bit as much love and caring as my other children. She may be treating herself badly, (she is a very unhappy person), but was never treated badly in her home experience as a young child. In fact, for a time, she was the easiest to like and be positive with of all the children.
I'm sure that, sadly, many children do have to contend with poor treatment, but certainly not all of them.
