Urge to pee but only a little pee

I have a urge to piss but when i do only a little comes out it happens sometimes but i think its because the days that it does happen i drink very little water and when i drink mostly coca cola and other soda's (sprite rootbeer etc)?

Yesterday my son complained of very dark urine and today is complaining about groin and buttock (joint) pain. I've looked everywhere but can't seem to find any information which matches his symptoms. He has no pain when urinating...any thoughts? Thanks
