Low back & hip pain

Hello, I am female 54 in menopause. I get period every 3 months and before I get it, I feel pain in low back and amp and also feel hip pain. It is not as painful, as it is annoying. I talked to my doctor and she says this is normal for my stage. Is this really normal?
