Who else gets Performance Anxiety?

Who else gets this pre-pre-race? I'm racing on Saturday and I'm already nervous about it. I think that's one of the major reasons that I don't race much. Too much self-imposed pressure to perform well.

"I don't want to run/I just want to stay"

(another in a random series. for your reading pleasure - responses and thoughts optional) Show of hands here - who finished their first twenty-mile run and thought, "I must be nuts to do this!" ? I did, I really did. It (that run - one down, two to go before Mad City) was predictable to form...

Half Marathon Training

Answered by a doctor

I'm getting ready to do my 3rd half. Every training plan I've looked at so far has you stop your long runs at around 11 miles (with the promise that on race day the extra 2.1 miles won't be that big of a deal). I did this for my first two races and sure enough, around mile 11, I started to die....

How to prevent ab pain after a race?

Most times after long hard races I get tight and have pain right below my waist, it feels sort of like my abs and the pain comes and goes for a couple hours after the race. The weird thing is I recover quickly in that even after a very long race I am not sore at all a few hours later. I am...

How do you feel about the dive across the finish line?

I am shocked the IOC allowed that to stand. Now will every runner have it in her/his mind that they might need to dive across the line to win? Are we going to see running diving as a norm? Maybe it should be a new sport.
