If you could be an elite runner, would you?

If you could be an elite runner, would you? If the answer to this question seems obvious, you probably didn't think about it enough. Or, as a slightly different question, if you could be a full time, professional runner, would you?

What surface do you train on?

I would be interested in some discussion. What surface do you train on? What surface do you prefer? Do you agree with me that running on uneven surfaces make you a stronger runner? What are your experiences.

Cant believe how light racing flats are!

I finally bought some... Nike somethingorother somethingorothers... I've forgotten the name of them already. I can't believe how light they are. I almost feel silly owning them because I'm nowhere near an elite runner and don't ever expect to be. Here's to knocking a few seconds off that 5k time...

Why am i suddenly getting hot flashes?

:umno: For some reason all of a sudden I'm HOT. Seriously I'll be sitting here sweating if I'm wearing more than a tee-shirt. I've been running around in the dead of winter not wearing a coat. What the heck? Usually I'm freezing.

Sticking to the shorter distances

The more I train, the more I feel the need to focus on shorter distance races. Does anyone else feel this way? I like doing 5Ks and sprint distance duathlons.

Answered by a doctor

Anybody ever do a mile fun run just to see how quick you can knock out a mile?

Anybody ever do a mile fun run just to see how quick you can knock out a mile? I'd like to do it just once, but I think I'd feel a little foolish (for whatever reason).
